You can still buy Pemberton tickets online for the much anticipated music festival, which starts on Friday and continues until Sunday the 27th. Opt for a three-day pass to catch the entire weekend lineup, or buy a one-day ticket to check out a more select few.
Friday's shows include Nine Inch Nails, Interpol, and Wolfmother, and look for other big-name acts like Coldplay, Jay-Z, Death Cab for Cutie and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on Saturday and Sunday.
Also on the 100-act bill: the Flaming Lips, Sam Roberts, Metric, Kathleen Edwards, Mates of State, Wintersleep, Buck 65, My Morning Jacket, and a long list of local bands and DJ's on various stages.
Pemberton Festival is located at the base of Mount Currie on 200 hectares of land. Accommodations include on-site camping and RV spots, as well as lodging at nearby hotels and rental condos. Daily shuttles will be leaving from Whistler Village all three days of the event, departing at numerous times between 10 am and 1:30 pm, and returning from the festival between 10:30 pm and 1:30 p. If you want to take in Monty Python's Spamalot, today is your last day to check out the musical based on the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Telling the story of King Arthur and the famed Knights of the Round Table as they search for the elusive Holy Grail, Spamalot has been an audience favourite since its 2005 inception into Broadway theater. Directed by Mike Nichols with music and lyrics by Eric Idle and John Du Prez, Spamalot finishes up its run at the Vancouver Center for Performing Arts at 777 Homer. Meet at the library for City Poets, an evening celebrating Chilean writers and poets Pablo Neruda, Gabriela Mistral, Nicanor Parra Sandoval and Vicente Garcia-Huidobro Fernandez. Poetry recitals will be done in Spanish by Maria Eliana Cuevas from the Consul of Chile in Vancouver, Hernan Bravo, Ariadne Sawyer, Juan Salinas and Alejandro Mujica-Olea, with a commentary in English. Also included in the session is a performance of Chilean music. Admission is free the the 7:30 pm show, held in the Alma VanDusen Room on the Lower Level of the Central Library at 350 West Georgia Street.
Look at technology from different points of view: the triumphs and failures as people search for answers and advances, how it has invaded the human body, and the ways in which art and science are similar. The title of the exhibition is based on a 1962 Bell Labs ad on the invention of the laser, and features installations by various artists. Break out the popcorn for this second-annual outdoor movie series in White Rock. Take in a free 30 minute Canadian Forces Snowbirds air show, followed by the classic Tom Cruise feature Top Gun.
